Life-Sized Periodic Table

This was quite the project.  This exceptional student during her spring break 1988(?) embarked on painting this periodic table on the wall in room 116.  Unfortunately, due to the remodeling that took place during Summer 2001, the wall was destroyed.  The contractors tried to save the wall (intending it to be pieced together in a different location) but the blocks just crumbled.  Perhaps you might be motivated to recreate what Mendeleev and this student put together.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the hidden part of this story.  Students really gain a lot by working on involved projects.  Well in addition to a cute little red teddy bear that our kids still play with, this special student had a different helper with the project as well that gave up some of his time during spring break as well.  In fact, both of their initials were painted in a small heart located in the lower left hand corner of the table.  The two were later married.   I think the two (last I heard there were now three) are still in the  Wausau area making the community a better place to be.
